Brady found the confidence to build Albus Neuro Policy through the intentional, consistent, and elevating mentorship from multiple individuals at Boston University. The feeling of being heard, validated and believed in is core to our companies ethos. This page on our website will always honor the projects, organizations, and individuals that do an exceptional job advancing neuro-affirming practice and shared decision-making spaces.
Brady worked as a graduate assistant on Project OnBoard helping to build case studies that center autistic lived experiences, advised on strengths-based language, conducted interviews with paraprofessionals and other aspects of the project. Since the beginning, it is recognized that the team represents a collective approach and shared knowledge creation, an eye for empathy and a truly empowering work dynamic.
Project Onboard is a research–practice partnership between Boston University and Lowell Public Schools focused on improving training and support for new paraeducators. The team has developed a design process grounded in active listening, stakeholder collaboration, and continuous improvement—offering a strong example of how research can translate into meaningful practice while challenging deficit-based narratives. Central to this work is a commitment to engaging district stakeholders, especially paraeducators, so their perspectives actively shape the process. The modules also intentionally incorporate the lived experiences of individuals with disabilities, creating space for authentic, co-constructed growth. Led by Dr. Jennifer Lillis and Dr. Elizabeth Bettini at Boston University, in partnership with Paula Peters from Lowell Public Schools, Project Onboard seeks to embed neuro-affirming practices into the design of educational systems.
